Providers
If your organization manages buildings for customers, the Provider add-on lets those customers connect to you. Your whole team then works in their projects without being added to each customer’s organization.
If your organization works with a provider, rather than being one, see Working with Providers.
Before You Start
- Your organization needs the Provider add-on. Contact sales to enable it.
- Accepting invitations and creating customer organizations require an Admin of your organization.
Accept an Invitation
When a customer invites you, your organization’s admins receive an email.
- Open the link in the email and sign in.
- Review the organization, projects, and role you’re being given.
- Click Accept.
Access starts immediately, and the customer’s admins are notified. If you’re signed in with an account that isn’t an admin of your organization, you’ll be asked to switch accounts.
Connected Orgs
The Connected Orgs tab on your organization lists every customer you’re connected to:
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Role | Your role: Admin, Manager, Collaborator, Viewer, or Mixed |
| Projects | All for organization-wide access, or the number you can open |
The bar at the top shows how many customers you’ve connected out of your plan’s limit.
Click a customer to see the projects you can open and your role on each. With Admin access, click Open Organization to manage the customer’s organization directly.
Working in Customer Projects
Open a customer’s project from Connected Orgs, or from a link they share. While you’re working through a provider, the organization menu in the top-right corner shows your provider organization, outlined in purple.
What you can do depends on the role the customer gave you. With Admin, your organization’s admins can do everything the customer’s own admins can, and the rest of your team are Managers on every project.
Create a Customer Organization
Set up a new customer without them creating an account first.
- Open Connected Orgs and click New Customer Org.
- Enter the organization name, city, and plan.
- Enter the Owner Admin Email – someone at the customer, not a member of your organization.
- Enter the billing email and billing address, then click Create.
The new organization is billed annually on invoice, with the first invoice sent to the billing email. You’re connected as Admin, so you can start creating projects right away, and the owner receives an invitation to become its first admin.
Remove a Customer
To remove a customer org, navigate to Connected Orgs, open the row menu for the customer, select Remove. Your team loses access immediately, and the customer must invite you again to reconnect.
Notes
- Your team is your organization’s members. Add or remove members as usual and their access to customers follows.
- Only your organization’s admins get Admin rights in a customer’s organization; other members are Managers on every project.
- For the complete access model, see Providers.
