Selecting Your Plan

Selecting the right plan for your project is important. Novant tries to simplify this process as much as possible to enable users to get started and use Novant as soon as possible with the lowest amount of effort. We also want to enable users who have a deeper understanding of their building and want a price based on specific scope.

Sizing Your Project

The first step in using Novant is understanding what you want to achieve? By asking these simple questions you are able to define what you want to achieve and the following steps will help guide you to the right size.

  1. What am I connecting to? Assets, Points, Spaces and Zones.
  2. Am I connecting to a BMSor other live data system? What protocol are they using?
  3. What is required by IT?

What am I connecting to?

If you don’t know how many piece of equipment or points you want and just want to get started - skip this step and move to step 2.

Novant aims to price as easily as possible to enable users to get started with their digital foundation. We also understand many users want to be specific with their use-case and understand the overall costs for a full building setup.

The two main sizing requirements you need to understand are:

Data Points: Building Management Systems inputs, outputs and setpoints. Assets: Equipment within the building that you want to track in Novant.

Data points

You can obtain this information through the BMS incumbent or through documentation.

You can skip this step if you don’t know and want to get started by using a smaller bundle and increasing volume as needed.

Supported Protocols: BACnet, Modbus, Niagara using Jasper, Manual Ingestion + More. If you don’t see your protocol listed here please contact support@novant.io

Assets

We define assets as pieces of equipment within a building, often maintainable equipment/assets. This is often harder to obtain and we have a very generous amount allowed for in each bundle. The list of assets could be just Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning related or any other system within a building (Electrical, Fire, Security Waste etc…)

Starting with a list of equipment that is most important often simplifies the setup process by clearly defining scope and what’s important for your outcome.

Note: You don’t need assets or data points to start using Novant. You choose how you use Novant and if you just want to collect data points you can, if you just want to collect assets you can, if you just want to capture spaces and zones you can. We don’t enforce 100% data completion to start working but we give you the ability to link all data together and build a structure that will support any use case.
